A lot has been going on since I've last posted! Some good news, not-so-good news, and GREAT news. I've been getting some makeup gigs with close friends and family, which means more PRACTICE TIME! A little payment here and there was also a good plus as well! Hehe. So to make up for the past three weeks or so without posting, I'm here to photobomb you all with pics of some of the stuff that's been happenin'. Enjoy this great Thursday! xxo
Me doing my makeup, getting ready to do makeup. Lol. This was at my cousin's house btw, and that kid in the back is Mia..who I assume is chasing the cat.
My new favorite nail polishes: Sally Hansen's Rockstar Pink & Sinful Colors in Mint Apple. Lately, I've been fascinated by nail polish and have been really interested in nail art in general. Growing up of course as a wee little girl, nail polish has always been in my life, but I NOW just started to, 'take it more seriously'. I am trying new colors and new techniques in application as opposed to the typical clear, plain matte black and pearly colors I normally go for. I find it super fun! The ultimate DOWNSIDE to this is that I have a horribly BAD habit of picking on my nails when I get anxious..which happens quite often unfortch. So I just feel as if doing ANYTHING to my nails is a complete waste of time if I'm just going to subconsciously ruin them. Boo. :(
A few weeks ago, I was asked to do Faren's makeup for her best friend's wedding. The photo above would be my, 'ghetto-ass work station' @ her mom's house where I went for the transformation. Do you honestly think you could keep your area nice and tidy when you're working under a time limit?..not to mention a very short time limit? Yeah, didn't think so. Besides, I knew where everything was. I swear. But I left, of all things, my tweezers. Which I didn't even use! But they were safely returned in my hands. Thanks Faren!
That's Faren, getting her hair did by Keeann. Doesn't she look like she's really enjoying the experience? Haha. But seriously she was. I don't quite remember what the conversation was, but what I can tell from her expression, it seems like we were talking about something disgusting perhaps..? Hmm, dunno. I probably sniffed way too much eyelash glue to refrain any memory on that day..kidding.
1..2..3..Cheese! Finished look! Very pleased with it. :) Of course this would've been better if I had a 'before' & 'after' shot. I keep forgetting!! ASDFASDF.
Here's a more clear photo from her Facebook page of the makeup I did for the event. :D
This is Tita Mel, not technically my auntie, but close enough to know her most of my life to call her so. :) She's been wanting me to do her makeup for as long as I can remember! Doesn't she look stunning? She's got the most FLAWLESS skin too. JEAL! There in the back goes Keeann again doing her thang with hair! Remember what I said about good news? Well Tita Mel is also a blogger (a really good one at that) who has featured me a couple of her entries as well as linking my blog! Just by reading her blog alone tells me she has a bunch of readers! It's so fun and quirky! Also filled with all sorts of cooking tips and such. I'll let y'all check it out for yourselves! I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as I have! --> http://villavilla.wordpress.com/ (where I also got this photo, btw)
This is Pauline and Francesca and I did their makeup for Pauline's 15th birthday. Silly geese, these two. Haha. Oh and about that great news? Francesca is the mastermind behind the new and up-and-coming clothing line called, "Empire In The Air" which in my opinion has already become sort of, oh I don't know, HUGE! I'll leave it to you to figure out why: http://empireintheair.tumblr.com/ How does relate to my 'great news' you ask? WELL, she loved how she looked in the makeup I did, so she invited me to do makeup for a photoshoot in May for her Empire In The Air clothing line!!!! This is HUGE for me! I just hope everything pulls through and hope she still considers me for the part. This would help me like you have NO idea. Fingers crossed!
Keeann and Francesca. Btw, both these photos are taken from empireintheair.tumblr.com Check it out!
AND LASTLY, my accident involving a flight of stairs. Not really, but fooled ya there for a second right? ;) Haha.
This was my take on an April Fool's joke, the fake SCAH! Took me about an hour and a half to to put together since it was my first attempt to try anything like this. I've done bruises and fake blood before but nothing like an open flesh wound. Which I should've tried experimenting on sooner because it was an insanely awesome experience for me. It looked so real, I freaked myself out. That's a GOOD THING!! That means I did it right, RIGHT?! Pretty good for my first. Patting myself on the back for that one. :)
Well there you have it folks! That wraps up my, "catch-up"! Hope I can update more frequently rather than 'post-bomb' like this...which is exhausting, btw. Blah. Lol. Until then! I'm planning on doing some looks based on 2NE1's "Try To Follow Me" video! Stay tuned. :)
