HEY everybody! Hope you all had a great July 4th~! I'm sorry for not updating in a while..again! One of the reasons being the HEAT lately. It completely discouraged me to wear any makeup at all. Summer has just been torture. What's the point of wearing it if it's just going to MELT right off as soon as I leave the house? So yeah, I apologize society had to witness a disturbing display of BARE FACE for about a week or two. Haha.

{Looks} POW

Hope everyone is having an amazing week so far! Today's look is a lot more wearable with a simple eye, and lips with a hard-hitting POW. I know I told myself that this was the week I'd do a really elaborate look much like ANIMATE, but I've been feeling pretty down today and I just wasn't in the mood to go all out at all. With that, I haven't had much of a drive either, so I am pretty disappointed with myself. But I figured I'd do a blog post, maybe then I could keep my cool and hopefully distract myself from, "real life" and get away for short millisecond.

{Looks} ANIMATE

{click for larger view}
I say, "Random" because this isn't your average-everyday "Face of the Day" most are used to. I don't do looks everyday since I don't wear makeup everyday. Haha. So make this be one of the many posts for looks I feel inspired to do on any given day.

{Tutorial} Kpop Girl Group-inspired Makeup~!

The long-awaited tutorial is here! If you are obsessed with Kpop (Me! Me!), you've probably noticed that a number of Korean girl groups have pretty similar eye makeup commonly worn in almost every video; main focus on eyes, heavy to dramatic eyeliner (fishtail/winged to be specific), minimal eyeshadow and natural lips and cheeks. Now you too, can be just like Park Bom, Taeyeon, Son Gain, or Hara, and star in your own (imaginary) girl group with my own version of a really easy step-by-step Kpop Girl Group-inspired makeup tutorial! Warning: This WILL NOT help improve your dancing capabilities. You'll have to practice the "bow and arrow", "butt dance", and the "Abracadabra" in your own time. Think of this as a mere confidence booster. ;) So prepare for your finest selca poses, plump up that "aegyo fat" and let your inner Kpop star shine through~! 화이팅~!

{Looks} Japanese Gyaru-inspired~
Lots of
This week has been such a downer that I needed a pick-me-up and decided, why not play around with makeup? That (obviously) brightens up my mood! So I opted for the long-awaited Gyaru-inspired look that I've longed to full-on try out. Basically a Gyaru is a Japanese term for fashion-forward girls with a doll-like appearance. There are tons of variations of Gyaru.
My first attempt on the Gyaru look was not too long ago, but it somehow ended turning up Visual Kei-ish, which I've done and experimented with many times in the past. But I think I nailed it this time. I'm pretty satisfied with the way it turned out!

{Tutorial} Valentine's Day Date look! Part 2!
Child, you have been living under a rock if you don't get what this adorable card is trying to tell you! Check out In-vita Paper Studio's Etsy shop along with other, "Pretty Things on paper"! Also, how UBER CUTE is this?!
Hey guys! This is Part 2 of my V-day tutorial series! You can check out Part 1, which is a Daytime Date look, here. To be honest, I was supposed to post this right after Part 1, but just after I was getting done taking pics for this Date Night look, I uploaded them and I felt like something just wasn't right. I guess I just wasn't fully satisfied with the outcome. The photos were so-so, in my opinion. I showed it to my mom and she said there wasn't anything wrong with them. I thought otherwise. I just thought I could've done a better job. I was going to do a simple taupe eyeshadow look, with a dramatic winged eyeliner..but I KNEW I had more to offer than just..that. I admit I can be perfectionist, so with that said, I did the entire look over. But you know, it was worth it. If I know I'm happy (and COMPLETELY satisfied) with my work, I know you all will be happy with it as well, rather than me looking back on it and have regrets and "what-if's".

{Tutorial} Valentine's Day Date look! Part 1!
*Haha. Cute right! Photo credit to sweetperversion's Etsy shop! I ran across this whilst looking for Valentine cards online. Check out the shop, I really love the humorous concept of this stationary! Definitely not your everyday average greeting cards. They're incredibly charming!
Hey guys! Valentine's Day is just around the corner, so I came up with day and night date-appropriate looks to wear especially for the occasion! This post is part 1 of 2 of my Vday tutorial series. The second tutorial I'll post up sometime this week. I meant to post this yesterday, but I was struck with Writer's Block. Poo.
Part 1 is a daytime look, really suitable for outdoor dates, picnics, you get the gist. I used purple and lilac tones vibrant enough to make a statement, but still subtle enough to be wearable, even for everyday! You'll love this especially if you're into wearing minimal makeup. We're not going to be caking on the foundation, lovelies! There's a huge difference between concealing our flaws and completely disguising what we really look like. So be careful when applying your foundation and concealer and try not to be cake-happy! A thin layer will do. Also, make sure everything's evened out and blended in together, espesh the area around your jawline, hairline, and ears.
No falsies for this look, I'm sorry to say! As a lover of false eyelashes, it's definitely hard to transition to make due without them, but I wanted this look to be as natural and light as possible.

My submission for the NYX Glamorous Vamps Contest!

Hey everyone! I'm just doing a quick post featuring my submission for NYX's Glamorous Vamps Contest! This is my absolute first online contest I've ever participated in and I am so so sooo excited to have joined. The concept is really simple, VAMP. Not necessarily a 'Vampire', fangs, Dracula..TWILIGHT..but just a sultry, glam, yet dark look. "Dress your lips up in your most fierce and desirable red lips mimicking the overall look of a stunning vampire" it says. Immediately the idea of a gradient look popped into my mind..yes, ANOTHER gradient lip. What can I say, I'm a fan of them. And anyone can do a red lip. It's a classic look that anyone can pull off. Creating a gradient however, adds that extra VAVOOMM. Besides, it gives a gorgeous three-dimensional effect to the lips.
I paired that with a taupe eyeshadow over the lid and used a dark brown shadow to make an exaggerated crease. I also used two pairs of Daiso eyelashes layered on my upper lash line and bottom lashes by Red Cherry with individual lashes I cut up myself using dull lashes that have lost it's shape. Soooo hope you all enjoy my own interpretation of the VAMP concept! Wish me luck!
Btw, if any of you are 'a fan' of NYX Cosmetics on Facebook, check out all the submissions! There already TONS of beautiful, beautiful talent! Contest ends Wednesday next week! So check us out!

{Tutorial} Gradient Lips!

Hey everybody! This is a quick mini tutorial on how to do my version of the gradient lip look I had on in my previous post. Other examples of Gradient Lips are found in my take on Maleficent and Ursula looks based off of Disney Villains. The version I'm doing today is far more natural and more of a daytime-friendly, cute, everyday look. It's also very easy to accomplish with very little effort. Also, please excuse my hair. Lol. I didn't bother to style it after I showered. There are days where I just wanna wash n' go without hassle and today was one of 'em!

T.I.L.T.!

Happy Thursday...er...Friday! I meant to post this yesterday, but I got caught up in the World Series..GO SF GIANTS!! So I've been trying to find ways to encourage myself to post often by reading up and catching up on some of my recently bookmarked blogs. Figured I need some inspiration! I noticed several of them posting "Things I Love Thursday" and I've always loved the idea, just never got around to posting one myself! It took sometime to think if I should include this concept into my blog since the sole purpose of it was to post looks, plain and simple. Thing is, I'm NOT a plain and simple person lol! But the more I think about it, the more I want my blog to be more than just for looks alone. Less boring, if you will. SO dear readers (or lack thereof), I bring you my first attempt to 'expand' my blog with none other than a THINGS I LOVE THURSDAY!! 8D
